DESCRIPTION:The planning system is being remodelled by the Government to he
 lp achieve its objectives for housebuilding\, economic development and mit
 igating climate change. The revised National Planning Policy Framework\, p
 ublished in December 2024\, is now being implemented\, and measures contai
 ned in the Levelling Up and Regeneration Act 2023 to speed up plan making 
 continue to be brought into effect. Devolution and local government reorga
 nisation will shake up the relationship between parish councils and upper 
 tier authorities. All of this will have an impact on the way local plans a
 re made\, planning decisions are taken and on the role of neighbourhood pl
 ans.
